Goodbye 2016...Hello 2017 | My Goals

I've gone to write this post several times and didn't know how to start it off or what to say really. So  I'm just going to go with it and see how it ends up.

2016 was a pretty rubbish year for myself, and to be honest the less I say about that year the better. I've rambled about it in several blog posts so you can trawl through the archives if you wish to read my ramblings. But its a new year and they say to not dwell on the past but to focus on the future, and that's just what I'm doing. I cant change 2016 and it did change me in both a good and bad way, but  I've decided to take the negatives and turn them in to a positive. (check me out being a positive Polly)

So with that being said I have several goals I have set myself for 2017. Some I am keeping close to my chest and others I'm sharing. I have entered 2017 in a very different place than I thought I would , but as I said I'm turning this in to a positive and its made me want to better myself. which brings me to one of my main goals.

Growing my blog and YouTube channel. It was something that started as a hobby and still is to be honest. But through the wonders of social media I have been lucky enough to be a part of some exciting nationwide campaigns, worked with some big brands, joined my YouTube channel with the amazing Channel mum community and met some incredible people who inspire me to work harder on my own blog and Channel. I have set myself some personal goals and targets and aspirations for this year that I am keeping mum  about, but hopefully they will all come true and I will be shouting them from the rooftop. I think with the right attitude, focus and drive anything is achievable!

My other main goal for the year is to make and capture memories with my family. I have just invested in a pretty swish camera the Olympus Pen epl7 to help me with this goal. I will be honest and say I haven't a Scooby what I'm doing with the damn thing but I'm going to enjoy learning. I did a years photography course at college so it cant be too difficult to work out right!?!? (I hope)
We have booked our first family holiday aboard and we are off to the most magical place on earth...Disney world Florida! Rich and I went about 8 year ago and we said once we had children we wanted to take them whilst they were still young enough to truly believe in the magic of it all, and with rich being away for Christmas due to deployment we felt we all needed and deserved a fantastic holiday. I'm pretty sure I will be that embarrassing mum dress head to toe in Disney gear, singing frozen songs, walking round with a camera hanging from my neck and pointing it at everyone and everything whilst crying every time we meet a Disney character....I cant flipping wait!!

And finally my goal is just to be a more positive person and be kinder to myself. Its no secret I have had my battles with anxiety and I am my biggest critic and often care too much what others think of me, and I don't make enough time for myself. I've always been a people pleaser and why I think that's a nice trait to have, I often struggle to find the balance of keeping everyone happy whilst also making sure I'm happy. So I'm making a conscious effort to make more time for myself to do the things I love, not care what others think and do what makes ME happy! I need to realise that not everything will go wrong and I deserve to be happy just like everyone else.

So 2017 I have big plans for you...I hope your ready.

Have you got any goals or resolutions for 2017? let me know in the comments
thanks for reading.
